ABOUT OUR ASSOCIATION
The Briarwood Neighborhood Association is voluntary and is for ALL residents. You do not need to own your home to join. If you are a homeowner or renter, we welcome your involvement with the association.
Although the first homes in Briarwood were ready for move-in in mid September 1978, our assocation was formed in 1981. Since that time, we have operated continuously as an association. We have many long-time homeowners and renters still living in the neighborhood. Now that's longevity!
In January, 2009, the Briarwood Neighborhood Association was granted non-profit incorporation status with the Secretary of the State of Texas. This will allow Briarwood, among other things, to avoid paying sales taxes on purchases and avoid paying income tax on interest earned in the association's bank account and on qualified nonprofit income. The founding board of directors of the Briarwood N.A. Inc are Marc P. Valerin, Renee Taylor, and Frances Thompson. The Secretary of the Corporation is Gretchen Boettcher.
Membership fee is $10/year.
